The legal definition of pressure vessel varies from country to country, but often involves the maximum safe pressure (may need to be above half a ) that the vessel is designed for and the pressure-volume product, particularly of the gaseous part (in some cases an incompressible liquid portion can be excluded as it does not contribute to the potential energy stored in the vessel.

Pressure vessels can theoretically be almost any shape, but shapes made of sections of spheres, cylinders and cones are usually employed. More complicated shapes have historically been much harder to analyse for safe operation and are usually far more difficult to construct.

 Pressure vessels are used in a variety of applications. These include the industry and the private sector.

Pressure Vessel Engineering focuses on providing Code Calculations, CRN Assistance, FEA analysis of pressure vessels or components, and Solid Modeling & Drafting.  Our work varies from vessel modification calculations to complete new vessel calculations including drawing sets for CRN registration.  PVE has designed vessels ranging from small filter vessels to large pressure treating cylinders.

Pressure Vessel Engineering provides complete vessel code calculations and drawings for ASME Section 1, 4 and 8 (Div 1 and 2) as well as B31.1 and 31.3. We use conventional ASME vessel code calculations combined with advanced Finite Element Analysis techniques for cases that codes do not cover.
